About Cribma
Find an area that fits your life.
Start with the places you go, your budget and what matters at home. Cribma helps you compare Metro Vancouver neighbourhoods and narrow down where to look.

- Rank areas, inspect individual hexagons and compare the reasons behind each score.
- Explore nearby mapped places, save a search on your device and share a results link.
- Open rental searches on other sites. Cribma has no connected listing feed or verified available homes yet.
Data sources and editions
These editions come from the bundled dataset. Scores use this snapshot, not a live stream.
- CMHC Survey Zone boundaries
2026 geography, Vancouver CMA
CMHC survey zones are regional statistical areas. Their names and borders do not always match locally understood neighbourhoods.
- TransLink GTFS Static
feed 26JUN_20260807
Stop density within a walk of the area centre. Not a travel-time estimate, and it does not account for how often service runs.
- CMHC Rental Market Survey
October 2025 survey
October 2025 CMHC survey average for existing rental stock. It is not a live asking rent and may read below current listings.
- Statistics Canada Census
2021 Census
2021 Census dissemination areas for British Columbia. Population is assigned from dissemination-area centroids and describes the 2021 Census, not current residents.
- OpenStreetMap amenities
OpenStreetMap data as of 2026-11-02
Nearest mapped park, grocery store, school, childcare, cafe or restaurant, and pharmacy, measured in a straight line. OpenStreetMap coverage is uneven, so a gap can mean unmapped rather than absent.
OpenStreetMap contributors provide mapped amenities and address search data. Nearby distances are straight lines; missing map features do not prove a place is absent. Population estimates assign census-area totals by their centroids.
Maps use OpenFreeMap, OpenMapTiles and OpenStreetMap contributors. Map attribution remains visible with the map.
Address and place search
Search uses the Photon public demo service for moderate preview traffic. Its operators can throttle heavy use and do not guarantee availability. Results are map matches, not verified property addresses. Confirm the result you choose; map picking and coordinate entry work without the search service.
Photon repository and service policyYour search and privacy
- There is no account, no advertising and no analytics or tracking scripts. Area scoring runs in your browser.
- Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any web host it receives your IP address and the pages you open. Our application logs keep the page and its status, with the search details in the web address removed. The network and security records Cloudflare keeps may still hold the full web address.
- When you press Search for a place, the text you typed and your IP address go to the Photon address search run by komoot in Germany (photon.komoot.io). Nothing is sent while you type.
- The map is drawn from OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org), which receives your IP address and the part of the map you view.
- Your results page keeps your whole search in its web address: place labels, which can be a street address, their exact coordinates and days per week, your household answers (adults, children, cars and pets) and your home preferences. That address stays in your browser history and is sent to the host when the page loads. Only share it with people you are comfortable giving those details to.
- Saved searches and your theme choice stay in browser storage on this device. Calculator amounts stay in the current page session and are not included in shared search links.
- Opening an external rental site or Google Maps takes you to that service and its privacy terms.
